Faith – Love – Play – Nature

At TLECC children are allowed to be children in a nurturing environment of Christian love and trust.

Children are born with the natural capacity to wonder. Our philosophy is driven by the children’s interests and ideas. They are empowered to solve problems, try new things, collaborate with others and test wonders. As children develop a sense of agency they realize that they are able to make choices and decisions to influence events, and to have an impact on their world.

Children are monitored by trained, committed, trustworthy caregivers, who foster curiosity, positive relationships, self-confidence and a passion for learning. Our program is designed to help children develop physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, creatively, and spiritually in an environment of Christ-like love.

We are passionate about four things at Trinity: Faith – Love – Play – Nature

Our number one passion is sharing Jesus with the children we care for. Each day the children are exposed to Jesus Time (sometimes referred to ‘Pickle Time’ because we are being saturated in God’s Word), Bible stories, a variety of Christian songs, and are invited to praise Him through dance. As well as praying at meal times, we model prayer of thanksgiving and praise and we model prayer through conflicts. Children in childcare and preschool attend chapel once a week in the church with the Senior Pastor. We work tirelessly to share the Gospel with each child and through the Holy Spirit, work to build their faith. Children are encouraged to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control).

There are so many ways to define love. Our role model for love is Jesus.

For us, love is:

  • Trust and respect
  • Nurturing and gentle encouragement
  • Laughter and joy
  • Patience and forgiveness

Love is spoken out loud and love is given through hugs and smiles.

Children in our care are allowed to follow the awe and wonder that they are intrinsically motivated to explore. They are given time, space and freedom to be thinkers and doers, laying a foundation for learning and working on life skills. Children are allowed to navigate safe risks. Which we define as challenges the child identifies and chooses to negotiate anyway.

We provide pockets of intrigue, inviting children to explore their world in order to create opportunities for learning and development. Our caregivers provide mindful interactions and individually responsive care.

Children are given large amounts of time to explore nature. They are encouraged to satisfy their natural curiosity, make discoveries, experiment, take healthy risks, appreciate God’s creation, and get muddy while building an understanding of themselves (as they relate to others and to the world around them).

Trinity is blessed with 40 acres of nature to explore and play in. In addition to the playground, children hike in the woods in all seasons, explore the Little Menomonee Creek, and run through open fields. In our Creator’s Classroom they have fun in the mud kitchen, swing under old trees, balance on logs, pretend to sail away in a boat, create play stories in the fort, investigate worms and other creatures, and splash in puddles. During the summer they are allowed to experience lots of water play and in the winter they have many opportunities to play in the snow.

Trinity Lutheran Early Childhood Center of Freistadt is operated by Trinity Lutheran Church of Freistadt and practices the teachings of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in its programs.
